At Leisure Expert Group, one of the projects I worked on was This Is Holland. For the postshow 4 peppersghosts were planned, but still needed to be designed. A peppersghost is a holographic effect created by projecting onto a glass sheet, making the projection look like it's part of a model behind the glass. With the 4 themes and a rough story for each, I started designing the models for the peppersghosts. I then used Unity to create a simulation with these models, letting the video team test their videos before the physical boxes were created. After designing the models in 3D, and planning out any needed robotics, I created design sheets that were shared with a model builder to create physical models matching my designs. Some of the boxes included LEDs and motors to make them come alive even more than just the holographics.
